Mack

MARSTENMOOR SHOW CASE - Mack at 2 years.
D.O.B. November 7, 2004. Deceased.
Owned by G. Daviss & P.& G. Simmonds

Mack is truly a wonderful example of his breed. He possesses excellent breed type and is very well balanced overall.  His temperament is just delightful.  He is fun loving, very affectionate and is especially careful around puppies.  He is a dog that is comfortable in all situations.

He has a commanding presence, standing at 32 inches at the shoulder with a long thick body weighing in at 106kgs. Mack has passed on many of his outstanding qualities to his offspring including his dead level topline, heavy boning, good rear angulation and wonderful head type.

Many of Macks assets came from his great sire; Mungo - BISS/BIS(O) CH Marstenmoor First Chapta.

We are especially grateful to Paul & Gabrielle Simmonds for allowing us to co-own Mack.

Comments on Mack by UK Breed Specialist and Judge, Jackie Critoph

I was delighted to receive photographs of Glenda Daviss' recent acquisition a stunning fawn puppy dog (called Mack) that they purchased from and co-own with Paul and Gabrielle Simmonds. I understand he was bred from Gabrielle and Paul’s Mungo and Nell. I had the pleasure of judging “Mungo” (Marstenmoor First Chapta) when I judged at the MCOV Show and he was my RDCC winner. Although only a junior dog at the time, there was no doubt that with final maturity he would be a stunning mastiff and a great ambassador for the breed in Australia.

It is awfully difficult to assess a 10 ½ week old puppy merely from photographs, they can be so deceiving, but I was struck by the quality of this puppy. He has a nice broad muzzle, very pleasing head and although the ears look “big” at this stage experiences tell me that he will grow into them when the skull broadens. Nice ear set, correct shape eye and beautiful pigmentation.

I was particularly struck by the quality of the bone, which is heavy and round. He already has a good lay of shoulder and his overall conformation is wonderful. I loved the bend of stifle, which is so lacking in mastiffs today.

What more can I say - I think he is a stunning puppy and would not hesitate to find him a home here with me in the UK! I send you best wishes for a successful and exciting show career.
